Food Service Worker – Cook
Job Summary:
Prepare and cook food in hospital. Will cook-by-recipe, making sure individuals receive good, portioned and nutritious meals. Duties of the cook involve operating large/volume cooking. Prepares, heats and finishes cooking food items and serves customers, client and/or employees. May receive and disburse money in a food service establishment. Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
General Duties & Responsibilities include:
Performs duties related to the cooking, preparation and storage of food and beverage items following safe food handling practices.
Assists with the serving and distribution of food.
Operates and maintains food service equipment and uses supplies appropriately.
Maintains a safe, clean and sanitary work environment.
Effectively washes and scours all cooking utensils after each use.
Operates dishwashing equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications and established guidelines.
