Job Description:

Works as part of a health care team to assess individual needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions. Under broad supervision, provides general direct nursing care to injured, ill, convalescent or disabled individuals. Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other health-care team members as necessary.
Provides basic client care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas, douches, alcohol rubs, and massages, or performing catheterizations.
Answers individuals’ calls and determines how to assist them
Observes individuals, charting and reporting changes in individuals’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action
Measures and records individuals’ vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration
Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on individuals? charts
