Nurse Practitioner for Internal Medicine Admissions – GRHA

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory
• Develops comprehensive plans of care
• Examines clients to obtain information about their physical condition
• Instructs and counsels clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal
• Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients
• Obtains compiles and records client medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination
• Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care and infection management
• Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval
• Visits and observes clients on hospital rounds or house calls, updating charts, ordering therapy, and reporting back to physician.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as an APRN in the specialty area OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in physician assistant studies AND Two years of general medicine experience OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND completion of physician assistant training program of at least Twenty-Four months certified by the Accreditation Review Commission of the PA, ARC-PA AND certification to practice as a Physician Assistant by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners (or eligibility to obtain within one year).
Experience dealing with psychiatric patients.
