Job Summary:
Registered Nurses on the Skilled Nursing Facility unit (SNF) institutes appropriate nursing interventions which might be required to stabilize a resident’s condition and/or prevent complications. The SNF serves individuals who are profound to severely developmentally disabled and in need of a skilled nursing level of care.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
• Makes daily resident rounds to assess physical and emotional status and to implement any required nursing interventions.
• Responds to resident and family concerns and ensures that each concern is documented and a resolution is initiated or communicated to appropriate staff.
• Obtains report from the nursing staff he or she is relieving, provides report to the nursing staff coming on duty and keeps the charge nurse or others (as appropriate) informed about the status of residents and related matters.
• Prepares, administer and documents medications following accepted practices.
• Consults with the Charge Nurse and/or physician, as needed.
• Clarifies any order or treatment regimen believed to be inaccurate, ineffective or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner.
• Serves as a shift leader and a resource to other staff on the unit.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse or Multistate license.

• Experience working with patients having G/J Tubes, Tracheostomy’s and seizure disorders.
• Experience in long-term care, geriatric nursing and working with mentally and developmentally disabled patients preferred.
