Registered Nurse – Admissions

Decatur, GA

Job Summary:
Registered Nurses provide skilled nursing care to clients across the health spectrum, including those with acute illnesses, injuries, chronic conditions, and disabilities. Performs as a vital partner with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess client needs, develop comprehensive care plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness. May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention and refer to Social Services within the Admissions area as needed.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:
• Assess client health problems and address current and immediate needs.
• Complete vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record.
• Evaluate and notify doctor/Psychiatrist for evaluation and implementation of orders.
• Monitors all aspects of client care, including diet.
• Prepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments
• Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained
• Responds to resident and family concerns and ensures that each concern is documented, and a resolution is initiated or communicated to appropriate staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university OR Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse.

Preferred Qualifications Include:
• Ability to assess, plan for, and provide basic nursing skills; knows procedures including developing, implementing and revising plan of care
• Knowledge of nursing policies, procedures, protocols, treatments, standards of care and nurse practice act
• Knowledge of the procedures for medication administration and can administer oral, sublingual and IM medications
• Knowledge of Pharmacology
• Ability to perform CPR and for some sites, AED.
